What is Bibliographic Research?

Bibliographic Research refers to an organized and systematic way to collect and analyze the available data about the question of interest/topic.

Copinger describes Bibliographic Research as:
Bibliography has been called the grammar of literary investigation".
Oxford English Dictionary defines bibliographical research as:
The systematic description of books, their authorship, printing, publication, editions, etc."
